Salomon Iceglory Pant 2016 Review by A Better Ski

The Salomon Iceglory Pant is a warm insulated ski pant with a decent amount of waterproofing and breathability. This could be a solid resort pant for serious skiers, but it is definitely cut for smaller women.

Salomon Iceglory Pant Review

Tester: Cindy

Pant Size: M

Matt’s Specs: Sizing Info

Waterproofing and Breathability: The Salomon Iceglory Pant has a 20k Advanced Skin Dry waterproof and breathable fabric. Advanced Skin Dry 20 is actually pretty good, and we’ve always had positive experiences with outerwear featuring this tech. It’s still not quite on par with Gore-Tex waterproofing, but this is definitely more than enough for most skiers. Unless you’re planning on skiing in wet locations all the time, the Iceglory will provide plenty of wet weather protection. Breathability is also decent, but maybe not great for high activity skiers. The Iceglory also lacks the leg vents for better temperature control.

Fit: The Salomon Iceglory Pant is built for smaller skiers. It has an active fit that was very tight on our tester. Our tester is typically a medium in snow pants, and she couldn’t even button the Iceglory up. If you have a small butt and small thighs, the fit will be much better. It contours your legs very well, and the shell is a comfortable and functional stretch. If this pant fits your body type an you like an active fit, you’ll like the fit of the Iceglory.

Warmth: The Salomon Iceglory Pant has 60g of insulation which is a pretty heavy insulation for a pant. These would be good for those skiers in colder locations, and should work well for all but the coldest days. You’ll probably still need a good base layer, especially if you do typically run cold.

Features: The Salomon Iceglory Pant is a warm pant designed to keep you dry on the snow. They do have a motion fit shape and stretch material for a better fit. They also have a pant powder skirt, and several pockets with waterproof zippers. The Iceglory does not have ventilation.

Bottom Line: The Salomon Iceglory Pant could be a solid resort pant for the right person. It does cater to a specific body type, but has good waterproofing and decent warmth for those skiers it fits. This could be a great pant for the right person.
