Oakley Beltline Pro 2014 Review by A Better Ski

The Oakley Beltline Pro pant is a solid technical shell with top of the line features. With Gore-Tex Pro you’ll stay dry in any kind of weather and at the same time you don’t have to sacrifice breathability. These would be a great pant for serious skiers that need a technical shell for ripping the entire mountain.

Oakley Beltline Pro Pant Review

Tester: Matt

Pant Size: S

Matt’s Specs: Sizing Info

Waterproofing and Breathability: The Oakley Beltline Pro comes with Gore-Tex Pro for some serious wet weather protection and breathability. Gore Pro comes with the same waterproofing level as the Gore-Tex we know and love, but it also is one of the most breathable fabrics in outerwear. These are some serious pants, and would be great for those who rip hard all over the mountain in any kind of conditions. These would also make a great pant for those backcountry skiers who work really ahrd for their turns, and need the extra breathability that Gore Pro offers.

Fit: The Oakley Beltline Pro has a decent fit that is relatively true to size. I would classify it as semi-tight in the mid-section (just at the pockets) but it feels really comfortable throughout the rest of the pant. The legs are roomy and allow for a good range of motion. If you have really thick thighs, you may have to size up because it would be really tight in that area.

Warmth: The Oakley Beltline is a serious technical shell. They don’t have insulation, but they do have enough room for layering underneath. Since most people with a need for these will probably be charging hard all over the mountain the lack of insulation shouldn’t be an issue. These pants are for active skiers who are going to generate a lot of warmth. They have great breathability, and great ventilation.

Features: The Oakley Beltline is a pretty serious technical shell. The star of the show is really the top of the line waterproofing and breathability, but it does have all of the features you’ll need for ripping the entire mountain. It has both inner and outer leg vents, a storm skirt compatible zip, reinforced boot cuffs, and a RECCO reflector. It also has waterproof zippers and an elastic waist band with silicon gripper to ensure the pants stay in place.
