Flylow Baker Bib 2016 Review by A Better Ski

The Flylow Baker Bib is a tough and durable bib with high end waterproofing and breathability. These are a solid bib, and would work really well for patrollers or serious skiers that want a tough pant.

Flylow Baker Bib Ski Pant Review

Tester: Matt

Pant Size: M

Matt’s Specs: Sizing Info

Waterproofing and Breathability: The Flylow Baker Bib has a 20k/20k waterproof and breathable membrane. This is starting to get into the higher end and would be good for those skiers that are going to see some wet weather, and those skiers that are going to work hard to earn their turns. Sure there are fabrics with a higher waterproof rating, and fabric that are more breathable, but the Flylow Baker Bib is pretty darn solid, and really more than enough for most skiers.

Fit: The Flylow Baker Bib has a relaxed freeride fit. I found it pretty true to size, but admit that I do like a more athletic fit. Still, the Bake Bib gives you great mobility, and makes it easy to move. If you like the freeride fit, the Baker bib is great. I found it very comfortable, it’s just a little loose for my personal preference.

Warmth: The Flylow Baker Bib is a warmer shell, but definitely not built for cold weather. I still appreciate a shell over an insulated pant, but if you’re looking for warmth, the Baker Bib won’t fit that bill. Still, with the right mid-layer I feel most people could use this pant all season long.

Features: The Flylow Baker Bib is a very solid shell, with a good amount of skier specific features. The Baker Bib has a solid amount of waterproofing and breathability, along with fully sealed seems, and waterproof zippers. The Baker bib also has good amount of ventilation with inner and outer vents. It has an easy in/easy out zipper which help make it easier to get in and out of the bib. The bib has suspenders, and belt adjustments for a better fit. The bib also has a gear pocket, and an avalanche beacon pocket. Lower down are two more hand warming pockets. The final feature is the thick Cordura knees which provide more durability for those who are tough on pants.

Bottom Line: The Flylow Baker Bib is a great shell for those who want a tough bib that is going to hold up to nasty weather and years of abuse.
