Arc'teryx Rush LT Pant 2018 - 2017 Review by A Better Ski

Arc’teryx Rush LT pant review and video.

The excellent Arc’teryx Rush LT pant is an excellent backcountry adventure bib that has everything you need to mitigate foul weather.  3 layer GORE-TEX provides a high level of waterproofness and breathability.

Tester: Chris

Size: Large

Specs: See “Outerwear Sizing”

Fit: Large provided plenty of room in these pants, I could have moved down to a medium to have a more form fitted bib pant but I like the ability to layer this pant with other mid layers.  The bib portion of the pant is a soft shell that allows the upper portion of the pant to fit nicely against the body and breath well.  The knees being articulated and plenty of room in the shell allow for a wide range of motion, though this is a true shell that lacks stretch.  The leg cuff is wide enough without a zipper to fit over my touring boots (29.5) even while the book buckles are open, although the lack in full length zipper means that you will have to remove your boots to get the pants off.  The suspenders are removable for when nature calls, but ran a little high for my liking on the neck.

Function: A half length sealed YKK zipper along the outside of the legs means that you will be able to get nice venting while climbing in these pants and 3 zipper pulls allows you to adjust the venting just the way you want it.  The vents do not have mesh closures which allows you to open the vents wide, just be cautious on the way down if you forget to close them up.  Not a lot of extra pockets on the Arc’teryx Rush LT pants, but just the ones that you need, I like the pockets along my thighs to carry a snack or 2, maybe some chapstick, the pocket in the bib will do a good job keeping your cell phone warm and dry.  The cuffs are reinforced to protect against ski edges, crampons and other sharp objects.

Overall: The Arc’teryx Rush LT bib pant would be on my short list for a do it all pant, perfect for backcountry climbing, resort resort riding or snow shoeing.

Thanks jans-new
