The Spyder Vyper Insulated Ski Jacket is a well-insulated and waterproof jacket that has a durable feel and seems to have a good quality build. The outer shell is stretchy, and when combined with the soft insulation on the inside is really comfortable. I also really like the active fit. I am 5’9” and 155lbs and the medium fit really well. With the active fit the jacket is a little tighter in the torso (which I like), but it’s relaxed enough to allow easy movement. The Spyder Vyper is a little on the short side at 29cm from the center of the back. On me this hits right at the hip. The waist fits a bit closer to the body which is important for those who want to keep out drafts without cinching down the waist hem too tightly. The Spyder Vyper comes in four bright colors to make you more visible on the mountain. It has two well-placed vertical zippered chest pockets that are big enough to fit any standard size smart phone. The two side pockets on the waist are a good height and you don’t have to struggle to fit your gloved hands in. This jacket also has a vertical zippered pocket on the lower left arm that comes with a lens wipe. This is the perfect pocket for your ski pass. It also comes with an internal stash pocket and internal mesh goggle pocket. The arms have an internal stretch material with thumb hole to keep the liner in place and your hands warm, while the outer cuff adjusts to keep snow out. Overall the Spyder Vyper is great jacket for anyone wanting a warm insulated and waterproof jacket that has an active fit, and willing to pay the extra price for a few more features than a jacket at a lower price.
