Spyder Paramount 2016 Review by A Better Ski
The Spyder Paramount Core Sweater is a mid-weight fleece jacket that would be good for around town, or for an insulating layer under your technical shell.
Spyder Paramount Fleece Knit Sweater Review
Specs: Sizing Info
Fit: The Spyder Paramount has a standard fit. I found it to be pretty true to size. I think for my body type I would go with the medium if I wear going to use this as an outer layer, but small if I was planning on mostly using it under my technical shell.
Features: The Spyder Paramount is a technical sweater with Core fabric. Core is a rib-knit fabric with a fleece backer. It has a unique feel to it that is comfortable, but not overly soft. It’s also a heavy material, but it does feel like it will keep you warm. The nice thing about core is that it looks and feels like a knit sweater, but performs like fleece. It is full zip, and does have a chest pocket, and two hand warming pockets. It does have waterproof zipper, although I’m not sure the rest of the jacket is very water proof, or even all that water resistant.
Best Uses: The Spyder Paramount is a good fleece jacket for walking around the lodge after a day of skiing. It’s also a good insulating layer, and would work well under a technical jacket.
