2018 Marmot Radius Jacket Review by A Better Ski

Lets take look at the Marmot Radius Jacket.  Mostly just a shell, this layer is well suited for early or late season outings when the weather is nice and the conditions are real easy-going.  The Radius jacket looks like is has a loose feel with a long cut and long arms.  It is light weight and breezy.  Lets take a closer look and see what else we can find.

Waterproofing and Breath-ability: The Marmot Radius Jacket has a 10k rating on both waterproofing and breath-ability.  This qualifies as good but not not great.  This jacket is good for the average skier an an average day who isn’t facing cold winter conditions or wet heavy snow. 10k is good enough to keep sporadic moisture from absorbing and breath-able to allow enough moisture to escape for those of us who ski recreationally.

Warmth: The Marmot Radius Jacket is a light weight jacket that is designed to keep you protected from the wind and mild amounts of moisture. If you plan on wearing this jacket on a cold day, make sure to wear a well insulated mid-layer.

Fit: The Marmot Radius Jacket has a loose, baggy fit for a relaxed urban feel.  It has a long cut with long sleeves.  The hood even has a relaxed feel to it.  When I put on this jacket it made me feel like I was about to spend the day in the terrain park practicing my rail grinds and spin style.

Features: Marmot MemBrain® Waterproof/Breathable Fabric; 100% Seam Taped 2-layer Construction; Zip-off Storm Hood with Brim; Core Vents; Flapped Chest Pockets; Hand Pockets with Water Resistant Zippers; Zippered Sleeve Pocket; Powder Skirt; Internal Zip Pocket; Mesh Goggle Pocket; ThemoCell Phone Pocket; HD Brushed Tricot Collar; Elastic Drawcord Hem; Adjustable Velcro® Cuff

Bottom Line:  I thought this was a stylish looking jacket with a loose and light weight feel.  The Marmot Radius Jacket is a good choice for your average conditions on your average day.  I think about riding Big Bear on a March morning.
