The Columbia Bugaboo II pant offers a ton of warmth and all the features casual skiers will need on the snow. It’s a pretty basic ski pant, but offers a ton of warmth for a budget price. This is a great option for skiers that only go a few times a year, or for more serious skiers that want a budget pant that will work okay for most days on the snow.
Columbia Bugaboo II Ski Pant In-Studio Review
Pant Size: S
Matt’s Specs: Sizing Info
Waterproofing and Breathability: The Columbia Bugaboo II pant is made with Omni Tech waterproof and breathable material. This offers 10k/10k waterproofing and breathability. This meets the industry standard for what is considered waterproof. In my experience Columbia has also been okay in this department. These pants aren’t going to keep you dry in a downpour, but for those who need a waterproof pant at a budget price will find that it will do the trick for moderate days on the snow. As long as you continue to treat the material on a regular basis it will provide okay waterproof protection for a long time.
Fit: The Columbia Bugaboo II fits really well. The waist is very true to size, and the rest of the pant feels pretty normal. Sometimes with lots of insulation a pant can feel really thick and fit a bit tighter. However, these pants feel comfortable and fit well. I found it true to size, and would not recommend sizing up or down.
Warmth: The Columbia Bugaboo II is a warm pant. It has a decent amount of insulation with 40g. This would be more than enough for me on most days, but if you run cold you’ll probably still need to add a liner or two for the really cold days.
Features: The Columbia Bugaboo II isn’t flashy or highly technical, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad pant. This is a great option for skiers on a budget, or for those new to the sport that don’t want to spend a ton of money on gear from the get go. It has all of the features you’ll need to get you out on the snow, and comes at a really budget friendly price.
