The Columbia Antimony IV is a warm jacket that would be good for the casual skier that only gets out several times a year. It has moderate insulation for good warmth, and comes with the industry standard for waterproofing and breathability. It would be a solid jacket for those ski in colder places and need a little extra warmth from their jacket.
Columbia Antimony IV Insulated Ski Jacket Review
Matt’s Specs: Sizing Info
Waterproofing and Breathability: The Columbia Antimony IV jacket has a Omni-Tech waterproof and breathable layer to help keep you dry in a lighter snow. Omni-Tech meets the industry standard for waterproofing and is on par with any other lower end jackets. It’s not going to be great for those who ski on wet days often, but okay for the casual skier that doesn’t see a lot of wet snow or rain. Breathability is also on the lower end. You’re not going to want to do a whole lot of boot packing or hiking to that powder stash, but it will be okay for cruising around the mountain on colder days.
Warmth: The Columbia Antimony IV jacket has a 100g of insulation that offers decent warmth for all but the coldest days on the mountain. There is room to layer underneath for really cold days, but those who run warm should find this plenty for most days on the slopes. The hood is insulated to help keep you extra warm. The jacket does not have pit zips for the warmer days.
Fit: The Columbia Antimony IV is a regular fit that is true to size. It’s comfortable without being too loose or baggy. Length is good, and covers the butt decently well. It’s not a tailored fit, and there is a little extra room in the torso. The waist is also a little loose, but not overly so. Sleeve length is good, and shoulder width feels decent for broad shoulder.
Features: The Columbia Antimony IV is a pretty standard entry-level insulated jacket. It provides solid warmth, with okay waterproofing and breathability. It has plenty of pockets, and warm hood. It doesn’t have pit zips or a powder skirt, but you can’t really expect it for the price.
